Another slave to the week

Ever since college, I've been missing my connections to not-so-well-known music. From time to time, I'll acquire a cd that's supposed to be great (ie. Postal Service, Mars Volta, The Shins, The Strokes, The Killers) but proves to be disappointing on the whole. Last Monday, someone gave me a copy of Alexisonfire's Watch Out! and it has been growing on me all week. It fits perfectly with the music I've been into recently: loud yet haunting. The album seesaws between bitter screaming and achingly beautiful vocals. Best of all, I can listen to all of Watch Out! without skipping a song. If it weren't so cold out, I'd grab the cd out of my car so I could hear it right now. In lieu of listening, I'll just insert some lyrics here:

So this is what they call
Another endless night
So tired of believing
If this is wrong or right
I think this cause is lost
I wish that I could sleep
I feel like some kind of shadow
Another slave to the week
Imagine if we lived
Under the weather
We would never be found
Never discovered
If everything goes wrong
If it's one more endless night
You know there always tomorrow
And tomorrow...
~from "No Transitory" by Alexisonfire

P.S. I can't help but wonder if the lyric is actually, "Another slave to the weak." Quien sabe.
