Did you know Rick James died?

In the last five days, I have heard so many people talking about Rick James. "Did you know Rick James died?" "Rick James died yesterday." "Whoa! Did you hear Rick James died?"


Everywhere I went in California, someone mentioned it. Berkeley, Guerneville, Santa Cruz. Rick James, Rick James, Rick James. Two weeks ago, no one talked about Rick James. Two years ago, no one talked about Rick James. Before Friday, the last time I had heard talk of Rick James was freshman year of college when "Superfreak" was on the dining hall jukebox. Such a shame how sometimes it takes death to revive a musician's career.
