The opportune moment?

At the opportune moment
I swoop down, swing, swing, I missed her
Now it's out into the open
I call her, ring, ring, she's not there

At the opportune moment
She tells me, fling, fling, "I kissed him!"
Now it's out into the open
I go out drink, drinks I can't stay in

It's not like her
To make me feel guilty
To reduce me to nothing

At the opportune moment
I remind her faith what she has lost
Now it's out into the open
I feel like a weight has just beeen dropped

It's not like her
To make me feel guilty
To reduce me to nothing
But it's my life, it's my life
~"Opportune Moment" by The Sheila Divine

Sometimes I have the urge to repeatedly listen to "Opportune Moment" because it's that good. It also reminds me of a paragraph an old friend once emailed me. The paragraph was from a nineteenth century novel and involved "two turns of a waltz," which I always liked. Anyway, the point of the paragraph was that in order for any relationship to work the two people involved had to both be in the same spot at the same time... in the opportune moment. Even though my friend gave me the paragraph six or seven years ago, I still think about it constantly and wonder about the opportune moment.

Hmmm. Maybe I think too much.

Je pense donc je suis.
