Hasidic Jew + MTV = ?!?

This morning I went to the gym. I haven't been to the gym in the morning since I pulled all-nighters in college. Still, I found myself on the elliptical machine at 8:30 am. Shockingly, both MTV and VH1 were playing music videos. I hadn't experienced that in a while either. Here I was tired, possibly delusional, and already shocked. Then I flipped from VH1 to MTV and saw a young Hasidic Jew singing a rap/reggae song. WTF?

It turns out I was watching the video for Matisyahu's King Without a Crown and I have to admit that I liked it a lot. Both the video and the song kept my attention long after the initial surprise of seeing a Hasidic Jew on MTV had worn off.
