420?

When I handed my ID to the doorman at the Alien Ant Farm concert, he said to me, "4/20, eh?" Yes. Yes, I was born on 4/20. This, as it often does, led to a discussion of what 420 actually means. For the first time ever, I heard that 4/20 was the day that Bob Marley either was born or died. This seemed too easy so, after much speculation on the subject, I've finally decided to do some research.

Here's what I came up with.

420 has nothing to do with Bob Marley or police or the number of chemicals in THC. Apparently, a group of friends from California, who called themselves the Waldos, started the term in 1971. Pretty lame, huh?
